intro

i still couldn't write a novel, and i couldn't face escalating the poems again, so this year for WriMo i'm doing a Short Prose Writing Month -  ShoProWriMo.

there will be no count, there will be no statistics, there will only be my fear of further disappointing myself to perpetuate the process

in an effort to tie the project together, each short prose will be on the subject of a dream: a dream i just had, a dream i once had, a dream i pretended to have had, a dream i would have liked to have had or a dream i dreamt i had. since my recollection of such things is rarely more than a vague sense of how it made me feel and a one sentence precis there will necessarily be extrapolation and artistic licence: which is to say that even the piece most grounded in the dream most grounded in reality will be a fiction.

oh, and i fully recognise that nobody ever wants to hear about anyone else's dream (unless they were in it) so in an effort to make the whole thing a fraction less self-centred i'm banning myself from writing in the first person.

thankyou for wasting your time reading any of this.
